Alloy 2507 is the most popular of the nitrogen-strengthened duplex alloys. It has corrosion resistant equivalent to the 6% molybdenum alloys, such as AL6XN®. The minimum pitting resistance number for this material is 42. Depending on the source, a minimum pitting resistance number of 32 to 40 is required for service in seawater. Compared to 316L stainless, it can range from 2 to 3 times as strong. The primary Alloy 2507 fasteners that Nickel Systems stocks are hex bolts and hex nuts in 1/2-13, 5/8-11, & 3/4-10 diameters. Other items in stock, which include socket cap screws, socket set screws and dowel pins, are primarily overruns from previous orders.
