ALLOY 2205

Alloy 2205 gets the name Duplex because it is composed of two different types of grains. 40-50% of its grain structure is austenite and 50-60% of it is ferrite. It is closely related to, but much more popular than Alloy 255. In most environments, it surpasses 317L in crevice corrosion resistance. Alloy 2205 excels in chloride environments and resists hydrogen sulfide. Alloy 2205 has almost twice the strength of 316L. Due to the lower nickel and molybdenum content, it is less costly than Alloy C276. Among the places where Alloy 2205 is used include pressure vessels, heat exchangers and scrubbing systems. Navratna maintains a hex bolt inventory in Alloy 2205 for diameters from 1/4\" to 1\" in commonly requested lengths. Other diameters are available on request. Hex nuts, washers and threaded rod are also always available from stock. We are adding certain diameters of socket head cap screws as customer demand dictates. Almost all of our Alloy 2205 fastener inventory is dual certified to UNS S31803 & S32205.
